love below the sea (II)

swimming in the med’s blue

is a heavenly enjoyment

as the poet played its warm

and pleasant waters

off macrigiallos’ coast

south-eastern crete –

playground of the blessed

before engaging in a dive  and

being drunk with colours

as if thru’ poseidon’s looking

frolic among the female spirits

of the sea –

friendly/sexy/playful/ it’s a

great playground of instant

“oh the nereids/the poet’s friend

exclaims/are you a lucky

or have you been transplanted

into a water world you’ll find

hardly back again

into the upper world?”

“i love them all” the poet replied

“just be careful to venture into

the ‘calypso-deep’/in the inky spots

at the ionian seas

most precious/sacred

but most seductive of all.
