SEVEN

Six times I’ve tried hard

To paint her face

And all I got out of it

Wasn’t good enough for me.

For six times I’ve contemplated

The sweet side of

A pretty woman

Skilled with a scalpel to save

Lives.

Six times I have walked up

A nearby mountain path

A trail that has tried me

At my age of six

I’ve reduced of my actual

Age.

Have I seen her face

On the mirror of my mind

Or has Ana lived-up as

The avenging angel

Lived up to slip under

The skin of the woman

I deeply adore?

Perhaps the time for the

Artist’s suffering

Is not yet at its boil

Only the purified will earn

The gift of a great groove

For the seventh try

To complete a portray

Of her innermost.
