In front of my seat
A teeny with an elaborate
Tattoo on her neck and her
Shoulder
A bird’s wing obliterated
Partly by her sleeveless top
This is the age of the tattooed
Children
Hope it’s not the only thing
Setting her generation apart
From her previous one
Whereby I do not feel like a
Grandfather to her at all
But I’m probably closer to her
Than that.
I see that today tattoos are
What make a statement in
Society
And not the state of mind
Or talents in the arts.
Cellphones as the new leaders
Of direction
For spirituality
For the life-style
Instant comm’s at its best.
